Help & FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most. Still stuck? Contact the shop or provider who sold you the app, with your MAC address.
Getting started
What is Focus Play Pro?
A media player for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones. It plays playlists you already have from your provider (M3U, Xtream Codes or MAG/Stalker portal). It does not include any channels, films or series.
Where do I find my MAC address and device key?
Open the app: they are on the activation screen and, later, in Settings → Device & licence. Keep the device key private: with the MAC it lets someone manage your playlists.
How long is the free trial?
The trial starts the first time the app opens on a new device. Its length is shown in the app (Settings → Device & licence). After that a licence is needed to keep watching.
How do I add my playlist?
On this website, open Manage playlist, sign in with your MAC address and device key, and choose Add playlist. Paste your M3U link, or the Xtream Codes server, username and password, or the MAG/Stalker portal address, as given by your provider.
You can also scan the QR code on the app's activation screen: it opens this page with your MAC already filled in. The app picks up the playlist within a few seconds.
Licence and devices
How do I buy or renew a licence?
Contact the shop or provider who sold you the app, with your MAC address. The licence is linked to this one device; the app updates by itself once it is renewed.
I changed my TV or reset the app. Do I lose my licence?
No. On the old device open Settings → Move to a new device to get a transfer code, then enter it on the new device's activation screen. The licence and playlists move to the new device and the old one is switched off.
If the old device no longer works, ask your provider: they can move the licence from the panel.
Can I use one licence on two TVs?
No, a licence is for one device. Each TV, stick or phone needs its own.
Watching
There is no TV guide.
The guide (EPG) comes from your provider. Xtream Codes accounts usually include it; for M3U playlists add the EPG link in Manage playlist or ask your provider for one.
How do I watch a programme that already aired (catch-up)?
Channels that offer it show ↺ in Live TV and in the guide. Open the TV guide and choose a past programme, or hold OK on what is on now to start it from the beginning (phone: the ↺ button).
A channel or film does not play.
Try another channel: if none play, the provider's server or your playlist may be down; contact your provider. If only live channels fail on an Xtream account, switch Settings → Player → Live stream format between HLS and TS.
On Fire TV with Vega OS only https links can be played.
You can also open a stream in VLC or MX Player from the player's External player button (Android).
How do I lock adult categories?
In Manage playlist, edit the playlist, set a PIN and list the categories to lock. The app asks for the PIN before opening them.
Problems
The app says “Can't reach the server”.
Check the internet connection. You can keep watching your saved playlist while the licence is valid; the app reconnects by itself.
The app says my licence has expired.
Contact your provider with your MAC address to renew. The app unlocks within a minute once renewed.
